What is Ziptasker?
Ziptasker connects busy people needing Tasks done with trusted local Taskers.
Ziptasker is a platform designed to bridge the gap between busy individuals who require assistance with various tasks and reliable, local workers (Taskers) who can efficiently handle those tasks. Ziptasker provides a seamless connection, where time-strapped people can easily find trustworthy individuals to take care of chores, errands, or other responsibilities, saving them time and effort. By emphasizing both the convenience of outsourcing tasks and the trustworthiness of local workers, the platform aims to offer a practical solution to everyday needs.
How does Ziptasker work?
Customers (Posters) Post a Task that includes: a Task description, neighbourhood, the day/time and a budget. Posting a Task does not require a credit card. Taskers provide the Poster with proposals which then allows the Poster, and Taskers who have responded, to engage through the Private Messaging Chat to discuss information such as pricing, location, and other pertinent details. The Poster decides which Tasker best suits their needs and accepts that Tasker’s proposal.
Pre-authorized Payment Hold and Release
Once the Poster has selected and accepted the Tasker that suits their needs, the Poster proceeds to complete the process by accepting the Tasker and pre-authorizing a credit card hold for the amount of the Task plus applicable taxes. Payment is released after the Task is completed. Ziptasker does not store any credit card information, it uses a third-party payment processor (Stripe).
What should a Poster do if they're unsure about the Budget?
A Poster can leave the budget blank. Once Tasker(s) responds, the Poster can discuss budget proposals through the Private Messaging Chat Tool. Once you’ve decided on a budget you can edit the Posting.
What Happens If the Scope of Task Changes when On-Site?
If the scope of the Task changes when on-site, the Tasker must discuss the changes with the Poster before the Task is started. If both Poster and Tasker agree to the revised scope and fee, then the Poster and Tasker update the Task amount on Ziptasker’s platform and the Tasker completes the revised scope. The Task amount must be updated within the platform, otherwise the original amount will be invoiced to the Poster. If both the Poster and Tasker cannot agree to the revised scope and amount then the Tasker doesn’t start the Task.

There are many Task categories from home maintenance, visual arts, administrative support and everyday general Tasks.
If you do not see a Task category for your need
Use the Unicorn category, provide a detailed description and Ziptasker will do their best to source qualified Tasker(s).
Private Messaging Chat Tool
Our private messaging system allows users to communicate directly and confidentially. Conversations between Poster and Taskers remain private. Your proposal will only be visible to you, the Tasker, and the Poster until the Task is assigned, so don’t worry about anyone else seeing it.
What geographic area are Tasks performed?
If the Task is on-site, Taskers work within the Greater Toronto and Surrounding Areas. You may also post Tasks that can be completed virtually.
Poster Sign Up
Signing up to create an account is free, simple and quick, you need to be over 18 years old, provide your name, User ID and email address. When you sign up as a Poster, you are entering a community where you have direct access to qualified Taskers who can provide Tasks for a fair price. A Poster only pays the agreed upon cost of the Task plus applicable taxes.
How do I Post a Task
Once you have created an account, you can Post a Task! Select a category, provide a thorough description, the more information and specifics you provide, the easier it will be for Taskers to offer a fair proposal or request more information. Choose your neighbourhood, enter a date and time and budget amount. If you are unsure about the budget, a Poster can leave the budget blank. Picture(s) are helpful, so upload photos or videos of the area or issue related to the Task required. Once you’ve completed this information, the Task is ready to Post.
Choosing a Tasker - Price and Details
When Taskers send proposals for Task Postings, the Poster will receive an email notification. The Poster can sign into their account and respond to the Tasker. The Poster and Tasker can discuss details of the Task, budget proposals and any other pertinent information through the Private Messaging Chat Tool. Taskers are generally friendly and open to negotiation so it’s definitely worth chatting with them to come to an agreement.
The Poster decides on the appropriate Tasker with the right qualifications for their Task. There are many Taskers with varying qualifications and choosing the most suitable Tasker will depend on the size, nature, and type of Task. Some Tasks require an accredited licenced trade whereas other Tasks may require general knowledge and experience that is conducive to completing the Task. Use the Taskers profile information and ask questions within the Private Messaging tool to select the most suitable Tasker.
Budget Adjustments
Tasker(s) may provide proposals outside of the Budget range a Poster originally Posted. Thoroughly read through the proposal comments provided by the Tasker. The Poster can change the Task Budget by Editing their original Post.
Accepting a Task - Credit Card Pre-Authorized Hold Payment
Once the Poster and Tasker are in agreement with the Task, the Poster accepts the Task
and is prompted to provide a pre-authorized hold payment by providing their credit card information. Ziptasker uses a secure third-party payment processor (Stripe).
Completed Task and Payment
Once the Task is completed and the Customer is satisfied, the held payment for the Task is released and payment is sent. All payments are made through our platform and no payments should be made directly to the Tasker.
What Happens if a Poster Cancels a Task?
A Poster may choose to cancel a Task prior to 24 hours of the Task date and time without charge. If it is cancelled within 24 hours of the Task, a cancellation fee will be charged and will be the minimum fee commensurate with the Task.
What if a Tasker Doesn't Show Up?
Ziptasker will take every reasonable effort and act as quickly as possible to match your Task with an alternate Tasker. The platform is based on trust and transparency, and as such a Tasker’s rating will be negatively impacted due to a non show incident. We will suspend or terminate Taskers from the platform, if there is a pattern of cancellations or their ratings drop below a certain level.
Care and Satisfaction Promise
If you are not satisfied with the performance of the Task, you may request and submit a claim at hello@ziptasker.com detailing the reasons you are not satisfied with the Task. We will endeavour to resolve the problem, which may include using the same or another Tasker to correct the problem, or reimbursing you for the Task amount you have paid or by applying credits redeemable towards future Tasks to your user account.
Who is a Tasker?
A Tasker is seeking income as an independent worker who values the flexibility to earn money on their own terms, choosing when and where to work. A Tasker must be over 18 years old and have legal working rights in Canada.

Qualifications of a Tasker...
Taskers must have the skill, experience and competence to perform the Tasks they’ve chosen. There are many Task categories and depending on your qualifications and skill set you can choose which Tasks you are capable and qualified at fulfilling. There are some Tasks that require a professional level of training, licensing, certification, education and experience and others that require traits for everyday Tasks. It is mandatory that Taskers possess the skills, accreditation, knowledge and expertise they have assured.
How do Taskers get Work from the Platform...
Taskers can browse the Posted Tasks on the website filtering for categories and location. Email notifications with available Tasks will be sent based on the Tasker’s main category and skills. The Tasker provides the Poster with a proposal and contacts the Poster directly via the Private Messaging Chat to request more details.

Why Become a Tasker?
A Tasker enjoys the flexibility and independence to choose when, where, and for what price to work. We bring you the customers (Posters), there is no upfront cost, once the Tasker has been verified and has completed a strong profile, they can start booking Tasks. Complete the Task, and money is transferred to the Tasker’s account.
How does a Tasker Sign Up?
All Taskers need to be verified before they can use the platform. Go to www.ziptasker.com and click on the Become a Tasker button in the top right of the menu bar. Sign up with name, email and phone number and a Tasker Support Person will contact you to be verified. If you receive verification as a Tasker, you will receive a Welcome Email with information on how to complete a strong profile. How Does a Tasker get Paid?
Once the Poster accepts the Task, the agreed upon Task amount is held secure with a third-party payment processor until the Task is completed. Once the Task is completed and the customer is satisfied, the payment is released. No payments should be made directly to the Tasker.
What is the Payment Process?
We will administer all payments from the Poster to the Tasker through a third-party payment processor via the Ziptasker’s ecommerce platform. It is prohibited, and is grounds for removal from the platform, to obtain payment in any form, i.e. cash, cheque, credit card directly from the Customer.
Are their any Other Fees a Tasker can Charge?
When you are evaluating to accept a Task, ensure you have included all of the relevant costs such as labour, travel time, supplies, tools, materials, Ziptasker service fee, etc. Once the Task has been accepted, and the scope of Task remains the same, you may not impose or charge additional fees, hourly minimums, travel time, expenses or any other unauthorized fees. Attempts to impose any additional fees once the Task has been agreed upon, and noted in the platform, is prohibited and is grounds for removal from the platform.
Can a Tasker Transfer the Task to Someone Else?
Tasks must be completed by the Tasker who accepted the Task. If the Task requires additional helpers, the Tasker must be the primary contact person and must remain on-site with the additional helpers at all times. You may not assign or transfer any Task or part of a Task to another worker, third party, company or competitor.
Can a Tasker Cancel a Task after being Accepted?
Cancelling a Task should only be done as a last resort and in extenuating circumstances, such as feeling unsafe about the Task or premises. Scheduling conflicts are not legitimate reasons for cancelling a Task. The platform is based on trust and transparency, and as such your rating may be negatively impacted due to a no-show incident. We may suspend or terminate your account from the platform, if there is a pattern of cancellation or your rating drops below a certain level.
Are Taskers Rated?
Yes, Taskers will be rated based on promptness, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and the rating will be posted next to your Tasker profile. Transparency and trust are pillars to the platform, surveys and feedback form an integral part of building trust and professionalism within the platform.
